Center for First Third Ministry
equipping leaders to cultivate a consequential faith with those in the first third of life.
What does "first third" mean?
"First Third" is the phrase we use to refer to ministry with those in the first third of the life cycle: children, youth and young adults.
We also believe that families play an important and crucial role in the teaching and development of faith. So we include ministry with them in our conversation too.
Here’s where you’ll find great conversation at the intersection of theology and ministry practice in the world of first third ministry -- ministry with children, youth, young adults and families.
We’re interested in helping you shape the frameworks for those ministries, and want to connect you with other practitioners who are thinking about that too.
Join us! Add your comments, best practices and suggestions to the conversation.
What does the Center for First Third Ministry do?
The Center for First Third Ministry at Luther Seminary exists to equip ministry leaders and congregations to faithfully and effectively minister with children, youth, young adults and families.
We do that by developing:
- solid theological understandings
- faithful and vibrant ministry strategies
- known best practices and
- well-informed and skilled leadership
for faith communities as they serve the world.
